The electronic journal "Stato, Chiese e pluralismo confessionale" (https://www.statoechiese.it/) has no political or religious affiliation or orientation. The chosen editorial policy aims solely to be a tool and to reflect the plurality and pluralism of the schools and orientations on which the discipline of interest is based, in many respects, on the topics of freedom of religion and of conviction, relations between states and religious confessions and between law and religion, religious rights on the italian, european and international scale (Scientific-disciplinary sector Jus 11).

The journal aims to provide an alternative to the long publication times of periodicals in the sector, conference proceedings, round tables, seminars, etc., offering an agile tool allowing researchers to rapidly and efficiently participate in the scientific and cultural debate. Spontaneous submissions of a scientific nature, unpublisched, are received quickly, so that they can be shared with a wide readership, while guaranteeing the Author recognition of ownership of his/her work and unpublished contributions.

Submissions are generally published on line on a fortinightly basis; except during the summer months (15 July - 15 September) and during the Christmas/New Year and Easter vacation periods.

Belonging to the "tenured" scientific community (professors, researchers, assistants), renowned researchers, Authors holding important political or institutional positions in national, community or international bodies, including confessional, young devotees (research assistants, fellows, doctoral students, etc.) may send in their own texts, that must be reviewed in respect of the constitutional freedoms of science and free speech. Conditions for acceptance are the text’s scientific nature, relevance to the issues of the sector, compliance with editorial criteria and clear respect of criminal law and laws relating to the press.

Access to the journal is free, in compliance with the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities (to which the Università degli Studi di Milano adheres), with the Dichiarazione di Messina and with the document Open Science and its role in universities: a roadmap for cultural change of the League of European Research Universities. In particular, the Journal shares the commitment to:

1. encourage Authors to guarantee to their readers the right to use and reproduce their works in digital format free of charge, allow printing for personal use, without prejudice to their intellectual property right;

2. allow the storage of texts in online institutional archives, in the conviction that the dissemination of knowledge is incomplete if the information does not remain broadly and quickly available to society.

The Journal does not aim to constitute a database containing laws, sentences and documents (Italian and foreign), already performed by the Osservatorio della libertà ed istituzioni religiose (OLIR), Consorzio Interuniversistario di Ricerca e Documentazione per la Gestione di Siti Web di Diritto delle Persone, della Famiglia, dei Culti and delle Confessioni Religiose (LICODU), Centro europeo di documentazione sulle istituzioni religiose (CEDIR), Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL), and others, increasingly numerous, listed in the "Collegamenti web" section of our home page.

To guarantee effective and efficient pluralistic information, we seek appropriate links with sector sites and electronic journals and encourage exchanges of submissions with paper-based journals.

The journal can also be consulted on the Università degli Studi di Milano electronic journal website (https://riviste.unimi.it).

Social Network: When the papers are submitted, the Authors accept them to be shared on the Journal's social network profiles, along with a brief description. If the Authors prefer to write a description on their own, they will provide the text.

Readers will be informed on a regular basis of monthly access data that is collected officially by external and independent bodies.
